WESTROW’S MATTHEW SUTCLIFFE ANNOUNCED
AS MEMBER OF THE PRESTIGIOUS 2013 FELLOWSHIP FOR BRITISH HAIRDRESSING FAME TEAM
Westrow’s award-winning Artistic Director, Matthew Sutcliffe, from Westrow 18
Thornton’s Arcade in Leeds was named as one of only four stylists to make
it as a member of the 2013 Fellowship for British Hairdressing FAME Team.
Only four
stylists are selected each year by an esteemed judging panel of industry
experts to become part of the industry-renowned team. This dynamic new FAME
Team was revealed at the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s Luncheon and
Awards, which took place at London’s exclusive Dorchester Hotel on 3rd
December.
The
Fellowship Academy of Merit and Excellence is an annual initiative that was
created to nurture, encourage and promote an elite group of young,
up-and-coming talented hairdressers in all aspects of the industry. Offering
unique exposure and a possible platform to future stardom, the FAME Team is the
UK hairdressing’s original, and still the best, independent launch vehicle for
young creative stylists.
To date 67
young hairdressers have experienced FAME including subsequent British
Hairdresser of the Year Umberto Giannini, Antoinette Beenders and Lisa
Shepherd.
The team will
be in the experienced hands of industry mentors throughout 2013 including Bruce
Masefield, UK Creative Director, Sassoon, who will take on the role of Artistic
Director and The Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s Hairdresser of the Year,
Bruno Marc Giamattei of Marc Antoni, who will act as FAME Team Manager.
The announcement was the
culmination of an incredible year artistically for Matthew, who won the 2012
L’Oreal Colour Trophy in May with Lauren Elliott from Westrow West Park as well
as the 2012 IT Guy at the Creative HEAD
It List awards. His entry into the 2013 FAME team is a hat trick of success for
a stylist destined for the top and it’s clear that Matthew is now well on his way to
industry acclaim.
Westrow Director,
Steve Rowbottom, said: “Matthew has had an amazing year that most stylists
could only dream of. Winning the 2012 L’Oreal Colour Trophy and 2012 IT Guy
award this year ensured the hairdressing industry recognised Matthew really is
one to watch, but to become a member of the prestigious 2013 FAME Team really is
the icing on the cake. His hat trick of success this year is testament to his creativity
and skill and he will be waving the Westrow flag throughout his hairdressing
experiences as part of the FAME team in 2013.”
