Westrow's New Tempting SS2012 Service Menu

WESTROW'S NEW TEMPTING SPRING/SUMMER 2012 SERVICE MENU

Westrow offers clients some hair rehab this season with its new service menu offering

There’s a whole host of tempting treats on the service menus at Westrow this season. The brand, which has seven salons across Yorkshire and is a regular backstage at LFW, has taken reference from the key hair looks at the S/S12 shows to offer clients some sweet treats when it comes to caring for their hair. Offering Kerastase Fusio-Dose rituals, a bespoke conditioning ritual that involves a prescriptive fusion of ingredients, Westrow has ensured every client’s haircare dilemma is tended to, and the brand has come up with enticing names to tempt. Each two-phase prescriptive ritual includes a double shampoo, before an intensive conditioner is sprayed into the hair and massaged in with a long, luxurious scalp and neck massage. These service menu additions – priced between £13-£16 – are displayed, menu-style, at every styling station, and are also displayed on the brand’s in-salon TVs, which every client can see from their chair. Looks like Westrow is definitely one to watch!
WHAT’S ON THE MENU?
AGE IS JUST A NUMBER: perfect for mature locks, this treatment means you don’t have to act your age, and neither does your hair!

THE THIRST QUENCHER: Give thirsty locks the drink they deserve – and if they’re really dry, we might make yours a cocktail!

STAY STRONG: If your hair is weakened through colour or the sun, add some super strength with anti-breakage conditioners.
A TOUCH OF GLOSS: Protect coloured tresses and add some serious shine to your style this season.

WESTROW PAYS HOMAGE TO VIDAL SASSOON

WESTROW PAYS HOMAGE TO VIDAL SASSOON – THE PIONEER OF THE HAIRDRESSING INDUSTRY

It was announced on Wednesday 9th May, that Vidal Sassoon CBE passed away at the age of 84 following his battle with leukaemia.
An industry icon, he became the most celebrated hairdresser in the world after blazing a trail in the hairdressing industry with a fresh way of thinking – his unique aesthetic and geometric styling in the 1960s was revolutionary for women looking to free themselves from the constraints of the stiff, set styles of the previous decade.
Westrow’s co-director, Steve Rowbottom, began his career at Vidal Sassoon in 1981, working in the Leeds salon under the tutelage of then creative director, Tim Hartley.
“Those were heady days,” recalls Steve. “Working for such an iconic man and brand has hugely influenced my career and Westrow as a business, as everything we embody uses the principles inherent in Vidal Sassoon’s disciplines. He was a true master of his craft; attention to detail was everything, and his love of precision cutting is something that has never left me after 25 years in business and is at the heart of everything we strive for across the Westrow salon group. He always said ‘if they don’t look good, we don’t look good’ a true industry mantra, and his impeccable standards and creativity ensured he truly ignited British hairdressing. Without his input the industry would not have been what it is today, and he will be sorely missed.”
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be sent to American Friends of The Hebrew University in support of The Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Anti-Semitism- 11500 W. Olympic Boulevard, Suite 512 LA CA 90064 or www.afhu.org.
A service will be planned at a later date.

WESTROW CELEBRATES A LOVELY JUBILEE 25 YEARS IN BUSINESS

Directors of the Westrow hairdressing group, Marc Westerman and Steve Rowbottom, celebrated 25 years in business on 1 April 2012 – 25 years to the day that they opened their first salon in the Victoria Quarter in Leeds. To mark the occasion, the directors held a huge celebratory event for staff, industry names and members of the press at the opulent setting of Aspire in Leeds. The night was a true celebration of the businesses longevity and evolution through a tough financial climate over the years, but one that has seen the brand survive two recessions, while expanding to seven salons with more than 100 staff. The brand is focusing on further expansion plans, with an academy and three more salons in the immediate pipeline.

“Celebrating 25 years in business is a wonderful feeling,” says director Marc Westerman. “We have been through some tough financial times over the years, but have stayed strong, which is testament to our enduring business partnership and vision for the brand.”

“Recognising our loyal staff and franchisees at our event was very important to us,” continues Steve Rowbottom. “They have been with us every step of the way. Some of our staff have been with us for 20 years, and have evolved as the business has grown, and for that we are truly grateful.”

The night started with a champagne reception sponsored by Kerastase, with canapés including Yorkshire’s finest fish and chips. Guests were then treated to a retrospective of Westrow’s finest moments throughout the last 25 years, as well as an insight into the future of the brand. The party then truly got started with Ibiza favourite, nightclub percussionist Michael Fish ensuring guests could party through until the early hours.
